I’ll never forget the time that I was about to go to the beach for a day of fun in the sun and a friend loaned me a bit of her new moisturizing sun block. I slathered it all over and got one of the boys to help me with my back and started enjoying the sun – and fell asleep. I woke up feeling funny. Not sunburned, but itchy. I looked at my arms and they were red and bumpy. I ran to the bathhouse and looked in the mirror and I looked like I had been attacked by SAND FLEAS!! It wasn’t bug bites though. The expensive moisturizing sun block that I had tried had done me in. I was sensitive to something in it and had had a reaction. I washed off all the product with a swim and then a shower with soap and water but it was days before I was back to normal.
Now I patch test any product I am going to put on my skin. To do this I put a SMALL AMOUNT on an area like the inside of my elbow where I can easily apply it and check it over the course of the day. If I can make it half a day without reaction, I know it is okay to try. It’s Nirvana Natural Personal Lubricants don’t have chemicals, parabens, alcohol, or many of the other things that cause some people troubles. It is still good to do a patch test.
